Tax on prizes Yes
Tax rules As a consequence of the Finnish tax regulations, there will be a tax on prize money for non-Finnish participants. The tax, which is 15% of any prize, will be deducted from the prizes by the organizer.

Anyhow, an exception exists for US citizens competing in Finland, since their income is free from Finnish tax, if the total of one person’s income does not exceed 20.000 USD over the tax year. If this limit is passed, then the whole sum is liable to taxation.

Final step 2
16 players will play a Round Robin with the pin fall from the step 1 carried forward

There will be 15 rounds in the Round Robin, each consisting of one game matches.

After the conclusion of each match in all 15 rounds, bonus points will be added to the score total as follows: 30 points for a won match and 15 points for a tied match.

The standing after the final step 2 is an accumulated total of the score of the 8 games in step 1, the score of the 15 games in step 2 and all won bonus points in the Round Robin matches.

Top 4 of this standing will qualify for the final step 3
Players not continuing will be ranked 5-16 according to their positions in the final step 2

Tournament tie rules
Qualification and the final step 1-2
In case of a tie the highest ranked player will be the player with the highest last game. If a tie still exists the highest ranked player will be the player with the highest second last game, then the player with the highest third last game etc. When games are compared in the final step 2, bonus points won in the matches are not taken into consideration.

The final step 3
In case of a tie in a match in the final step 3, a one ball roll off on a full set of pins will be played, repeated until the tie is broken.

Desperado squad
In case of tie in the desperado squad, the highest positioned player will be the player with the highest position after the qualification.

 

The Brunswick Ballmaster Open 300eXtra

The Brunswick Ballmaster Open 300eXtra is open only for all Brunswick Ballmaster Open participants.

The winner will be the player, who, among the entered players in the Brunswick Ballmaster Open 300eXtra, bowls a 300 game or, in case of more 300 games bowled, the winner of the roll off shots (see below).

The entry fee for entering into the Brunswick Ballmaster Open 300eXtra is € 10. One entry fee covers one 6 game qualification or one game desperado squad. The entry fee also covers the 300eXtra competition during a step in the final, the bowler is qualified for. Eventually games played before the player enters the Brunswick Ballmaster Open 300eXtra are not valid in the competition. A player cannot pay an entry fee just before the final to participate in the final of the Brunswick Ballmaster Open 300eXtra.

If no 300 games is made by entering players
€ 1.000 will be awarded to the entered player scoring the highest game.
The rest of the prize money collected will be carried forward to next year’s Brunswick Ballmaster Open 300eXtra prize pool.

If one or more 300 games are made by entering players
The prize will be minimum € 2.000 and maximum € 8.000.

In the interval of 1-350 entries in the competition, the prize will be € 2.000.
For each entry higher than 350 players, € 10 will be added to the prize, i.e. € 2.010 at 351 players, € 2.020 at 352 players, € 2.030 at 353 players, until € 8.000 at 950 entries.
For 950 entries or higher the prize will be € 8.000. (In 2007, where the number of entries was about 550, a prize based on this calculation would have been € 4.000)

Tie rules
In case of more than one 300 game played by entered players, a one ball roll off with a full set of pins will be played, repeated until the tie is broken.

If more than two bowlers takes part in the roll off and there is a tie in the roll off, only bowlers, who tie with the highest score, will continue to the next roll off.

The roll off will be played after the TV finals of the Brunswick Ballmaster Open and on the TV-pair.

The playing order will be chosen by the player who rolled the first 300 game.

In case of further ties, the order will be reversed for each round.

All players will shoot on the same lane.

The lane will be chosen by the Tournament Director Sami Luoto.

If there are more rounds in the roll off, the lane will be alternated on each round.

Players have two practice balls on both lanes. Practice lanes will be available on a lane specified by the organizer before the roll off.

If there are no 300 games in the competition, and if there is a tie in the highest game, the high game prize money will split.

300eXtra prize during the final steps on Sunday 15 January 2012
A 300 game, made during the final steps on Sunday 15 January 2012, will be awarded by a Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa Motorcycle and additional amount the amount of € 3.262. The total value is € 21.752. This prize is additional, and the 300eXtra prize between € 2.000 and € 8.000 for 300 games bowled between 6 and 15 January is also available.

In case of more 300 games played on Sunday 15 January, a separate roll off will be played. In this case the first roll off will be for the 300eXtra money prize (€ 2.000 - € 8.000) and the second roll off will be for the motorcycle. Both roll offs are played after the TV finals of the Brunswick Ballmaster Open.

300 games played on Sunday 15 January are also counting for the main 300eXtra competition.

250eXtra roll off finals
All players entering the 300eXtra in squads 1 to 12 are automatically included in the 250eXtra competition for no additional fee. All players who bowl one or more scratch games of 250 or higher will play a roll off. The winner of the roll off will be awarded € 1.000. The lane draw for the roll of is done by the organizer. The player will play the first 3 roll off rounds at the same lane. If there are still more than 24 players left back in the roll off, they will bowl at the same lane until there is 24 players or less left back. The roll offs will be played on Friday 13 January at 22.30. There will be NO lane maintenance before the roll offs.

1st roll off
All players included will bowl a one ball roll off on a full set of pins. Players scoring 8 pins or more will continue to the next roll off. If there are no score of 8 pins or higher, the players who are tied at the highest score, will continue to the next roll off.

2nd roll off
All players included will bowl a one ball roll off on a full set of pins. Players scoring 9 or more will continue to the next roll off. If there are no score of 9 pins or higher, the players who are tied with the highest score, will continue to the next roll off.

3rd roll off and further in case where more than 24 player continue
All players included will bowl a one ball roll off on a full set of pins. Players scoring strikes will continue to the next roll off. If no strike is scored the, players who are tied with the highest score, will continue to the next roll off.

4th roll off and further
If the number of players is 24 or less, a new lane draw is made by the organizer. All players included will bowl a one ball roll off on a full set of pins. Players scoring a strike will continue to the next roll off. If there strike is scored, the players who are tied with the highest score will continue to the next roll off. For the next roll off the player move one lane to the right. The winner will be the winner of the last roll off.

Squad 1:
This is the Early Bird Squad and the fee for everybody is 130 €

Squad 2:
This is the B-bowler Squad.
The fee for B-bowlers in Squad 2 is 90 €. A B-bowler is a bowler, who has average of 185 or lower. A Certificate from the Federation is needed. Top three B-bowlers in Squad 2 will win a free re-entry worth of 130 €. If not all spots in Squad 2 are occupied by B-bowlers, the squad might be open for other players, who will pay a fee of 150 € or a re-entry fee of 130 € to enter the squad.

Squad 4:
This is the Senior Squad.
The fee for senior bowlers in Squad 4 is 130 €. The fee for senior B-bowlers in Squad 4 is 90 €. A senior bowler is a bowler, who is reaching the age of 50 at the latest on the day of Squad 4, which is 8 January 2011. The top three senior bowlers in Squad 4 will win a free re-entry worth of 130 €. If not all spots in squad 4 are occupied by senior bowlers, the squad is open for other players, who will pay a fee of 150 € or a re-entry fee of 130 € to enter the squad.

Squad 5:
This is the Youth Squad.
The fee for youth bowlers in Squad 5 is 110 €. The fee for youth B-bowlers in Squad 5 is 90 €. A youth bowler is a bowler, who have not yet reached (and will not reach) the age of 24 on the day of Squad 5, which is 8 January 2012. The top three youth bowlers in Squad 4 will win a free re-entry worth of 130 €. If not all spots in Squad 5 are occupied by youth bowlers, the squad might be open for other players, who will pay a fee of 150 € or a re-entry fee of 130 € to enter the squad.

The first entry fee includes the Player Ticket for free entry to the centre from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 January, worth 12 €. The first entry fee includes the ticket for the Player Party Ticket and Buffet, which will be held on Sunday 15 January, worth 25 €.

(or Squad 4 for youth B-bowlers or Squad 5 for senior B-bowlers)

Youth Package:
Squad 4 + one re-entry worth 130 € = 220 €

Senior Package:
Squad 5 + one re-entry worth 130 € = 250 €

Package 1:
Any two of squads 3, 6, 7 or 8 = 270 €
(or squads 2, 4 or 5 if available)

Package 2:
Any three of squads 3, 6, 7, 8 or 9 = 400 €
(or squads 2, 4 or 5 if available)

Package 3:
Any three squads = 430 €

All Packages include one extra ticket to the centre from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 Janujary, worth 12 €. Packages are personal and the entry included in the package is not transferable to other player. If the player do not use all the entry included in the package no money will be returned. The player is responsible of his own reservations. The organizer cannot guarantee the spot for a package if the player doesn’t have a reservation.
